Siemens is to supply 44 wind turbines rated at 2.3MW for the Keenan wind farm in Woodward County, Oklahoma.

The order was placed by CPV Renewable Energy Company, a subsidiary of Competitive Power Ventures (CPV) and a power-generation development company focused on North America.

The farm will increase Oklahoma’s existing 700MW wind-power capacity by 101MW and is scheduled to be in commercial operation in 2009.

The scope of supply includes the delivery, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines. A service and warranty agreement is also included in the order.

Siemens has so far received six US wind turbine orders totalling more than 1,500MW to date this fiscal year.
